Change on #6 - I was mistaken

I read this ammendment in more detail. This one is for seniors who own houses but whose income is below the poverty level. This is to protect them from having to sell their houses due to skyrocketing property value and property taxes. I support this. VOTE YES.

My other votes as of right now

Correct me if I am wrong.

For Floriduh United States Senator – Bill Nelson. There is no way in Gah’s Green Earth I would vote for Katherine Harris. She was the head of the Floriduh Republican Party AND the head of the recount in 2000 and she didn’t recuse herself from the process. May she rot in hell for her lack of ethics in this! Nelson is also a good centrist.

US Representative – Charlie Stuart – I know his brother, City Commissioner Robert Stuart, and he’s a cool guy. Also, Ric Keller is a fascist, rubber-stamp Republican whose idiot blind support of Bush’s War in embarrassing. Keller is an idiot almost as big as Pennsylvania’s theo-fascist Santorum.

Governor – Jim Davis – I really hate both candidates, officially. I am only voting on “No Show” Davis because I think Crist is extremely creepy. I think he looks like a sexual pervert; he’s only married once for 4 months. He swears he’s not gay, and his vote kinda proves it, unless he’s more inclined to vote to gain power. Also, Crist is a Republican, and in a tie, or for lack of better choice (like this case), I’ll always vote Democrat.

Attorney General – Skip Campbell – McCullom is a virulent, fascist right-winger. It’s scary anyone thinks this is a good choice for Attorney General; it’s like giving an elected position to the Grand Inquisitor of the Crusades. Skip is a centrist, even with his “I love Jesus” ads.

CFO – Alex Sink
– She’s got awesome financial experience as the president of Floriduh’s largest bank. She’s well-spoken. She’s a very strong choice, as long as idiots don’t just vote along party lines. Her opponent is a grossly inexperienced, spectacularly underqualified candidate who, I truly believe, is using this election to become a career politician.

Commissioner of Agriculture – Republican Charles Bronson has done a fine job. He’s been a bit more lenient on the Everglades-polluting farmers than I’d like, but through the hurricanes, he was phenomenal in getting financial support for growers. Eric Copeland is another inexperienced person who is using this election to get a leg up in politics.

State Rep. District 36 – This one is a hard one. Sheri McInvale was a moderately good candidate for a long time. She was good at getting state funding for local parks, she helped refurbish Lake Eola’s bandshell, and she ALWAYS showed up to donate to equality organization events. But then she voted to approve the Pro Life license plate and she voted to ban gay marriages. The Democract Part of Floriduh got mad at her and, and for the last two elections, refused to fund her and instead funded someone to run against her. She got pissed and switched parties and became a Republican. Then she put out this anti-immigration flyer with her opponent chumming up to a famous local drag queen (What the???? What do drag queens have to do with immigration???) Her response to critics saying her message was veiled homophobia: “I am sorry you got upset.” (That’s not really an apology!) I don’t believe either she or opponent Scott Randolph will be good for my wallet, though! But I am going to go with Scott Randolph, because McInvale is slowly changing her vote the become very constituent-unfriendly and costing me more money every year. And she didn’t have the guts to stand up and apologize for her homophobic ad (I believe she in fact did it to get more Republican funds, which is ugly.)

ON THE AMMENDMENTS

Number 1 – to allow the CFO the make adjustments to the state budget without the legislature approving. The old system has worked up to this point, I say let’s not change it and vote NO.

Number 3 – switching amendment votes from majority to 60%. Why? NO.

Number 4 – Give tobacco tax money to anti-tobacco education – YES (I am a virulent anti-smoking Nazi, because it smells bad, and your individual freedom/bad habit affects the quality of life of others – mainly me.)

Numbers 6 & 7 – Extend Homestead Exemptions to POOR SENIORS and Military – Yes on 6, NO on 7 – This was started by the AARP and supported by Republicans to gain votes. I say if the Floriduh government can afford to give out extended exemptions, they should be extended to ALL homeowners across the board, giving no one population special favor. NO. I am being a bastard to the military, but I don't care - I don't believe in special interest tax cuts.

Number 8 – YES! Right now, there are no specific legal protections for eminent domain. If a property owner decides not to sell to a big developer, the government can step in, claim eminent domain, and then turn around and sell to the big developer. Thereby, the government undercuts the property owners and their rights. The opponents of this amendment say single property owners can hold hostage development projects that would “help” the entire community (read; help the developers’ wallets). With the soaring prices developers are forcing on us, they don’t need the government to make their jobs easier and their wallets fatter. I think single property owners have the right to hold these projects hostage for cash. I think the right to sell should remain in control of the property owner, not the government. PROTECT THE PROPERTY OWNER. Vote YES!
